Introduction

We have found that the most important key to your child’s success at our school is your support.  Typically, the more the parents support the School’s process the more the student engages in the process, and the harder they work at the School.  There are a couple of very critical ways of showing your support.

First and foremost is by attending one of our Parent Seminars. These Seminars give you the opportunity to experience first hand some of the valuable things and tools that your child is learning.  Most of our parents find that the Parent Seminars are of great personal value, but the main benefit is that they provide you and your child with some common experiences and tools that can result in some tremendous opportunities for new bonding, insight, appreciation, and understanding. We feel your participation in the parent seminars is paramount in rebuilding family relationships. Equally important, it communicates to your child your strong support and personal willingness to go the extra mile to help them succeed.

Since the parent seminars are so important, we will be providing more information and discussing them in greater detail in the weeks ahead. In the meantime, the way that you can immediately show support for your child’s progress is to participate in our Parent Orientation. This orientation involves working with an administrative member of the school staff over the initial four-week period, in order to:

·       Coordinate information

·       Provide the school with necessary insight about your child

·       Gain a proper understanding of the school and its components, and to

·       Set a solid foundation for your child’s progress at the School.

The orientation includes you scheduling a half-hour telephone call twice a week with your assigned administrative contact, so that you can cover those important aspects of the program that are too complex to address in one discussion.

The orientation is further enhanced by you completing a small assignment or series of “action items” after each phone call. These action items provide the School with some very important feedback that will allow us to work more effectively with your child.  We need your active involvement in this orientation.  After you have completed this process, you will be assigned a family representative who will continue to coordinate your student’s progress with you through weekly or bi-weekly (two times per month) phone calls.

We feel your participation in this orientation process is critical for your child’s success at our school.
